Rambler, Sand Point, Rand No. 4, Eagle, Big Cedar, Little Dipper, Sparrow, Hawk
. Thunder Mountain, Idaho, also known as Thunder Mountain City, was a mining boomtown (now a ghost town) in the first decade of the 20th century following gold discoveries in 1899 which indicated rich gold veins were present. By 1902, over 2,000 miners had entered the Thunder Mountain District, and new gold discoveries were located. However, the early rich discoveries did not produce the wealth anticipated. By 1910, the rush was over and mines began to close down in this high elevation, remote mining camp.
